Could Copenhagen’s Ørestad evolve the same way De Bijlmer did in Amsterdam?

Moving on – part 2

Threatening skies over Frederiksberg

Yes, so I moved. I now officially live in the old silo of the Kongens Bryghus brewery. How cool is that? It’s a very serene place, overlooking the city from the 16th floor. Last night there were thunderstorms swiftly passing by. The picture is the view I had from working at the kitchen table. More pictures will follow.

Ask me for my new address and phonenumber if you don’t have it yet!

apartment search

Friday, March 6th, 2009

Dear friends,

Because I’m being screwed by Danish laws again, I’m looking for a new place to stay in Copenhagen. Some wishes:

  • Budget up to 8000dkk
  • København K, (the nice part of) Østerbro, Vesterbro, or Frederiksberg
  • Around 70m2
  • Available from half May
  • A decent sized kitchen and shower would be nice :)

I might also consider Nørrebro, but in that case the apartment needs to have bulletproof windows and a lifeguard.

Let me know if you know someone who knows someone, etc! I’ll bake you a pie if you give me a good lead.

Today I experimented a bit with a neutral density filter. Check out the results here.

frisøren

Today I went to the most expensive hairdresser I’ve ever been in my life. They’re not hard to find, because at all hairdressers here in København you pay twice as much as in Amsterdam.

There were some nice perks though:

  • They had a wine menu!
  • Massage chairs for the hair washing
  • There were TV’s embedded in the mirrors, which you could control with your own remote control

And they also cut your hair, isn’t that amazing?

harbor and theater

It was nice and sunny (but very cold) this sunday and went for a bike tour to the harbor area on the north-east side of Copenhagen. Also includes the new theater (which will open in a few weeks). Looks pretty awesome! Check out the pictures here!

food delivery

Friday, January 18th, 2008

Why can meal delivery in Amsterdam, and most other dutch cities, be free (usually at a minimum order of 10 euro/74 dkk) and must cost a fortune here in Copenhagen? For example, I’m craving for Indian or Thai food right now, but I have to go for my fridge leftovers..

The only positve side of this is that Amsterdam is filled with annoying scooters and mopeds while Copenhagen is not. I’m not yet sure what I’d prefer..

Søndermarken

I’ve already shown quite some autumn pictures of Frederiksberg Have. This is Søndermarken, the park on the other side. It’s quite hilly. And they have a glass art museum deep down in a bunker. I need to visit that one day, it looks very cool.

frederiksberg have in autumn

Frederiksberg have in autumnWith the wonderful (but cold) weather today, I couldn’t resist to make a walk in the park. The trees are already coloring a bit, but I think it will become even prettier over the next weeks. Check the pictures!
