Together with a good friend I went to visit a castle this sunday in Hillerød. I think I’ll take anyone who’s visiting me to this castle from now on! Check the pictures here.

I’ve never seen a company so capable of digging their own grave…
Aha! While trying to map the Danish political parties on the Dutch, I think I found out why the Kristendemokraterne ended up on my list. Ok, this is what I, from a first impression, think how they map:
Socialdemokraterne – PvdA
Det Radikale Venstre – D66
Det Konservative Folkeparti – VVD
Socialistisk Folkeparti – SP
Kristendemokraterne – ChristenUnie
Dansk Folkeparti – Wilders
Venstre – CDA
Enhedslisten – Groenlinks
Ny Alliance – Hmm, I find it hard to place this party. It considers itself a center party.
In Holland the ChristenUnie is quite a left-wing party (more than the social democrats) but with a christian touch. They always showed up on my advice.
The most interesting I find is Venstre who call themselves literally Left but are in fact right of the center, just like the Dutch christian democrats. I now understand that Venstre in Scandinavian politics is more often used as a term for liberalism than socialism.
I just did an online voting advice at the TV2 website:
Du er mest enig med:
A. Socialdemokraterne: Yildiz Akdogan (78%)
K. Kristendemokraterne: Michael Hedelund (77%)
K. Kristendemokraterne: Andreas Klein Eriksen (73%)
Du er mindst enig med:
O. Dansk Folkeparti: Anet Burchard (24%)
A. Socialdemokraterne: Michael Vindfeldt (39%)
Ø. Enhedslisten: Johanne Schmidt-Nielsen (40%)
While in Holland I would always end up with the post-communistic socialist party (SP), here I seem to end up with the Socialdemokraterne (Social Democrats, Labour, PvdA equivalent in Holland). What I find surprising is that there’s also a member of the social democrats on my list of people where I agree the least with. And Kristendemokraterne (Christian Democrats, CDA).. how did that end up on my list? I’d never ever vote that in Holland. It seems that the parties here take less stand as a whole but let their individual members speak out their opinions, at least a lot more than they do in Holland.
Ok, back to my saturday edition of Politiken to read more about these parties and their stands.
Too bad I can’t vote…
Running in the park! And the parks are so beautiful here. I have both Frederiksberg Have (stylish) and Søndermarken (hilly) right around the corner.
The Danish PM called for elections today to be held on the 13th of November. I can’t vote myself but I will be following this with a lot of interest. Too bad that’s only 3 weeks away. I would’ve loved to see some more debating going on.
To follow the news, I subscribed myself to a trial membership of Politiken, a left-of-the-middle newspaper. Also good for practicing my Danish
Never before have I been so looking forward to a book being delivered: The collected works of J. Slauerhoff, my favorite dutch poet/writer (and ship-surgeon). 2 kilo, 1672 pages, I CAN’T WAIT!
I’d share some writing, but unfortunately it has never been translated to English…
I started collecting records again after a short break. But I did tell myself to focus on some genres. Otherwise I would walk out with 10 records every time
Soooo, I’m going to focus on Minimalistic Electro/IDM, Avant-Garde, Psych Folk, and Post Rock.
Some new records:
I’d be amazed if you guys would even know these bands/persons! Ok, who knows more than 2?
My new favorite store: Sound Station!
Oh, and I went to see Roísín Murphy this sunday in Vega. My my, that was an amazing concert! And yes, I like her tight sweater too. It surely fits her body. (She must be so tired by hearing that now… then again, that’s her own fault!)
Did I mention I’m addicted to music? I think I am…
After half a year, I finally have something to hang my jacket on when I get home. I went for Danish design. Not very original though, it seems everybody in København has this clothing hanger.. I still like it however. See how the hangers retract when nothing is on them?
I also bought a red glass whiteboard for in my kitchen which I will mount when they’re done with installing the heating. And I saw some awesome lights for in my living room. But I first need more cash…
Gotta love Illums Bolighus…
